Regata Storica is the main appointment of the annual “Voga alla Veneta” competition. It is a unique discipline in the world practiced for thousands of years in the Venice lagoon. Moreover Regata Storica recalls the glorious past of one of the most powerful and influential Maritime Republics in the Mediterranean.
The spectators will be able to admire the colorful historical boats, with drapes, costumed people and the best rowers of the lagoon before the races start. Among the many boats that will parade there will be “bissone, gondole, gondolini, caorline, disdotona and dodesona”. And also the sumptuous costumes of the figures: the doge, the dogaressa, ladies, armigers, maidens, squires, musicians, ambassadors and all the highest offices of the Venetian magistracy.
