Among the not-to-be-missed cultural events of this season in Treviso, the “Natura in Posa” exhibition is scheduled at the Santa Caterina Museum from 30 November 2019 to 31 May 2020.

The exhibition is curated by Francesca Del Torre, with Gerlinde Gruber and Sabine Pénot, and documents how the subject of Still Life developed between the end of the sixteenth century and throughout the seventeenth century.

The path, both thematic and chronological, exhibits over 50 masterpieces from the collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. The paintings, presented for the first time in Italy, feature market and cooking scenes, bouquets of flowers, fruit, musical instruments, hunting accessories.

The exhibition is completed by the section, curated by Denis Curti, dedicated to contemporary photography which shows how the theme of still life is present in the shots of some of the most important and internationally celebrated artists.
